TKAM# 7

Perspective: Atticus

Well I sure have put a good fight with Tom's case. Today when I was defending Tom I to stripped down naked because I was feeling pretty hot. I saw Mr. Dolphus Raymond talking to someone outside of the court house, but I couldn't see their head.

During the case Calpurnia came in holding a note in her hand to give to me, it said that Jem and Scout was missing, and Mr. Underwood stood up and told me that they were in the back of the balcony the whole time. I was furious because they were supposed to stay at home. The jury is starting to make the verdict and so far they are all saying that Tom is guilty. A huge failing feel just hit my stomach because I knew that we were going to lose, so I walked out of the court room and looked up as the African Americans stood up to honor me, I know that I made them proud. The black community stopped by out house and dropped off some food and goods.

I had went back to the court house and found out that Tom wasn't guilty, but wasn't quite innocent either. When I returned home I found out that Tom had been shot 17 times and Alexandra was even sad. They said that he was trying to escape the jail and they shot him. I understand why they shot him, nut they shouldn't have shot him that many times. It would have been a little better if they had kept him alive. Another innocent African American killed for nothing.

TKAM Post #6

Perspective: Bob Ewell

Today I was in the woods hunting down animals when all of a sudden I start hearin' my baby(Mayella) screaming. So, I ran as fast as I could and saw Tom Robinson on top of her, so I called the sheriff to handle it. Now it's time for us to go into trial for my daughters case.

Judge Taylor first calls the sheriff up to the stand, then he called me up. It felt very weird because he tasked me if I could write my own name down. I did then he some how noticed that I was left handed and he thinks that I beat my own daughter because her right eye is bruised up.

It was now Mayellas turn to go up to the stand and I'm very nervous because she might say the wrong thing and get the both of in trouble, not that I did anything. She seemed very nervous and kept getting her story mixed up a lot, she was forgetting everything that we talked about. I hope that she can now get her story straight and win this case.

TKAM Post #5

Perspective: Dill

Scout told me that Calpurnia had took them to her church and that they weren't welcomed by Ms. Lula. Rev. Sykes wanted to collect ten dollars from the church for Tom Robinson. I think that their relationship is getting stronger and they are starting to like each other more.

Jem and Scouts aunt Alexandra came to visit while Atticus is away getting ready for the Tom Robinson trial. Atticus seemed kind of nervous because he really needed to focus on the trial and aunt Alexandra doesn't know that he is defending an African American. Atticius always changes when she comes to town. Scout told Atticus about going to church with Calpurnia and Aunt Alexandra doesn't want her to go back because she doesn't like her.

If you are wondering why I know all this its because Scout found me under her bed, I ran away from home. I stole 13 dollars out of my moms pocket book and got on a train back to Maycomb. I went into Scouts room to talk to her about why and how I got here. I told her that we should have babies and we started to talk about the Radleys house.

TKAM# 4

Perspective: Jem

In maycomb we had a new visitor, Tim “mad dog” Johnson he had came to Maycomb, I heard about this dog from Atticus talking to neighbors and Ms.Maudie. The sherif Heck Tate tells Atticus to shoot the dog because he was nervous, he hadn't used a gun in so long. So, surprisingly Atticus shoots the dog right in the head, Scout and I almost fainted when we heard that he did that. We though that Atticus couldn't do anything but go to work and read. Scout tells me that she is so happy that she is going to tell everyone about Atticus and what he can do. I tell her that if he wanted us to know about him being a shooter, he would have told us.

I messed up Ms. Maudies garden so to pack her back Atticus is making me go to her house every day and making me read to her for 2 hours. Scout and Atticus had a long talk about defending Tom Robinson and Sout doesn't think that its fair. Scout went with me to read to Ms. Maudie and she wasn't very nice, she made fun of Scouts clothing and calls her an ugly girl. Every day it seemed like the days grew longer and longer, the alarms would ring at a different time every day. When I was done with my sessions with Ms. Maudie I went home one day and Atticus tells me that Ms. Maudie had Passed away. Atticus wanted to show me what a great person she was even though she seemed mean and she gave me the plant that I messed up and I felt really bad because I know that I shouldn't have done that.

TKAM# 2

Perspective: Atticus

It's just another day in maycomb. Scouts new friend dill came back to town for the summer to stay with his aunt Rachel. I caught Scout, Jem, and Dill messing with the Radleys house and I had a serious talk to scout about it. I told her not to go over there anymore because the Radleys don't want them to play around with their house.

We got a new neighbor, her name is Ms. Maudie, she is one of my closest friends around here. She told Jem and Scout all about “boo” and it seemed like Scout and Jem wanted him to come out and not be afraid. I could swear that I told them not to go to the Radleys house anymore, but I caught slipping a letter under their door and told them to remove it. Ms. Maudie and Ms. Stephanie Crawford are the town gossipers, so they told me that they had heard a gun shot. Scout told me that she is not happy with being in the 2nd grade and Jem tells her everything there is to know about the second grade and her makes her feel a lot better.
