b. i know that the time period is different because they have different disciplines and rules. Also, something else that caught me was amy is in high school smokes and they dont let us smoke today in our school time. NOT THAT I WOULD.
2. my question is why do you think that they let kids smoke in their time and not in our time?

I don't think that they really let the kids at the school smoke, because when Amy was smoking at school and she thoght that one of the teachers was coming in, she got rid of her cigar and put a piece of gum in her mouth. Pg. 23, paragraph 8
If they did let kids smoke at school it was probobly because they weren't that aware of what smoking could do to you.

Question) I agree with Sofia's comment because back then they did not know that smoking can cause lung cancer. I also agree that smoking was not a option to do at school. She probably just broke that rule.
