Quote 1: " You musn't gawk or your eyes will seal shut. If you point, your fingers will fall off."The boy's mother was laughing as though she'd been told all this yet still couldn't help herself.

Response: I though that this quote was funny because I never thought that a lesson could be put in a way were you might suffer from doing that wrong thing such as pointing, your fingers can't fall off, but when people hear about what it can do to you they might not want to point anymore.

Question 1: If you heard this would happen to you, would you react to it by stopping or would you know that it wasn't true?

Quote 2: As a child living in his house from the time I was four I was twelve years old, I remember my uncle's voice being crisp and distinct: deep and resolute, breathy and jingly when he was angry, steely and muted when he was sad.

Response 2: I liked this quote because it shows that she really loved living there and it showed how much she payed attention to him. I also liked how she described him and the way he is and acts.

Question 2: Do you think that she liked living in that housae or do you think that she hated it(why)?
