1. This book is similar to Begging for change and Money Hungry, those are books also by: Sharon g. Flake. How? These books are similar because they are all the same girl and dealing with the same problems.
2. This book reminds me of a little of myself because In remember when I went to a new school was shy and had a darker skin tone than the other students and I was still living in my own world and not caring about what the other kids said about me I just choose certain people to a hang out with.
3. This book makes me wonder about all of the pain and suffer that is going on with African American kids or any kids that had this same problem as me or Maleeka Madison and how they feel about their situation.
4. An exciting thing that just happened is that Maleeka Madison just got in trouble for selling old Halloween candy at school and getting her fellow classmates sick and just got released from restriction for another job.
5. In this book I really like Maleeka Madison because she is a strong independent young African American girl. Also because she takes all of that cruelty and hateful words and uses them to fight back not physically but emotionally. I like both characters Maleeka and Maleeka's mom because they both are independent and work hard and strive themselves to do their best to live and stay in this world.
